Ingredients
  

  • Glass beads in assorted sizes and shapes
  • Beading wire thin stainless steel or coated jewelry wire
  • Clear nylon fishing line or monofilament optional
  • Jump rings and small eye screws for hanging
  • Round-nose pliers and wire cutters
  • A small metal or wooden hoop driftwood, or a shaped frame (optional)
  • Bead stoppers or a small piece of tape
  • Ruler or measuring tape
  • Fine permanent marker or wax pencil optional
  • A soft cloth and a small bowl for beads
  • Safety items: magnifying lamp and a small container to keep beads away from children and pets

Method
 

  1. Prepare your workspace and tools.
  2. Decide on the shape and length.
  3. Cut your wire or line with a little extra length.
  4. Secure one end with a bead stopper or small piece of tape.
  5. Thread beads in your chosen pattern.
  6. Add focal beads at intervals.
  7. Create balanced strands.
  8. Finish ends with small loops and attach jump rings.
  9. Attach strands to your hoop or frame.
  10. Add a hanging loop and secure hardware.
  11. Hang your suncatcher and observe.

Notes

Consider experimenting with wooden beads or translucent acrylic beads for a softer look.
